Longer Reads (Print & Digital)

The euphoric moments of touching heaven (Seen & Unseen, February 2026). Read article.

Here I explore that feeling; when you’re at a concert or in a club, and you hear your favourite song or track come on. Surrounded by people all caught up in the moment…it feels euphoric. What is happening to make me feel this way? Have I touched heaven? Or is something more earthly happening?

It’s in Third Places we can be most human (Seen & Unseen, November 2025). Read article.

In this article I look at our need for Third Places – those places which foster social connections away from the demands of home and work. And which relieve us of our domestic and professional responsibilities. They’re increasingly hard to find but Gen Z especially are re-pioneering them as they seek authentic connection in-person – disappointed as they are by the empty promises of the internet and social media.

A group of young gen z twentysomethings eat food at a supper club in London.

Christ in strip clubs, (Woman Alive, June 2025). Read article.

We’re used to the idea of chaplains working in schools, prisons and hospitals… but in strips clubs? In this piece I interview the chaplains who are venturing into these spaces to offer a vital service to women working as strippers and dancers in London’s strip clubs. And discover how this interacts with the wider sex industry, the clubs themselves and the difference that chaplaincy can make there.

Why can’t women choose to be childfree? (Woman Alive, Nov 2024). Read article.

I examine whether women can be genuinely happy in choosing not to have children? In this article, several women who are ‘childfree’ – having chosen not to have children, and one who is ‘childless not by choice’ share their experiences with me. And consider what this means for their place in communities which often prioritise marriage and children, as well as in society at large.
