As part of my role as programme manager for a Social Entrepreneurs’ Business Accelerator, I managed its channels and produced social media content highlighting achievements and promoting the programme to investors and participants. An Interview with New Ground

Thinking about having that coffee? Joel and Dickon run @newgroundcoffee and spoke to us about setting up a social impact coffee business and being part of our accelerator. [1-minute read] 

“New Ground exists to help ex-offenders overcome barriers to work through training and employment. We had been trading for a few months as a community interest company and got connected with Resurgo Ventures through a mutual friend. We knew it was a reputable organisation, and the resources and network they provided was the deciding factor. The accelerator enabled us to build amazing foundations, a credible route to market, a robust legal structure and a strong network. It bolstered our knowledge and provided clarity. Beforehand we’d been a bit lonely, a bit aimless, but being around like-minded people meant we could go through it together.

The material on social impact and purpose was hugely motivational, the financial modelling was less fun but critical to what we were doing. There wasn’t a session that didn’t give us something new, nothing was irrelevant. It forced some deep questioning and gave us a new understanding of each other’s thinking and decision-making. It changed the way we understood each other. Every session caused us to re-evaluate the weak points of our business. We’d unpick things and break them down, and then by the end of the day we’d put it all back together. It could seem like a mess but we got down to the essentials – the why and what of our business. We feel hugely privileged to have been part of the accelerator, and through it put purpose at the heart of our business right from the start.

The accelerator has lifted our vision, and we now have so much more belief in the impact we can have as a business. We have high expectations, big plans, and our hopes are so much greater than they were before. We also feel much more equipped to achieve it, especially in terms of the investment and social impact we’re looking at now”.

Video Reels, Stories and STatic Images

As part of the digital marketing strategy I designed for historical fiction novel, Isabella’s Voyage; I produced a series of 15 second videos. These would be flexible to use and edit for reels and stories across Instagram and Facebook. I also delivered them as static images to use as ads and in carousels.
